QC Provincial Records fall at CAMO
Pointe Claire SC relay teams were on fire Saturday evening in Montreal and the Provincial recordbook will tell the tale.
12y olds Carlina Robinson, Carmen Robinson, Liane Tatigian and Gabrielle Murphy produced a 4x50 medley relay time of 2:12.11, more than 2 seconds faster than the previous 1995 DDO record. Their 13-14y teammates (Alexia Zevnik, Alyson Ackman, Ashley McGregor, and Katerina Cardi) also finished quicker than any previous QC team, at 2:04.16.
The CAMO 13-14y boys (Samy Eid, Kevin Bustamante, Vincent Pressault and Gabriel Gagne) were not to be outdone, and swam a blistering 1:57.60 to take the record away from the 2002 HIPPO team.
Overall PCSC keep their lead, but are only 50.5 points ahead of CAMO. The PCSC boys are pushing CAMO into second place, whilst the CAMO girls have so far outscored PCSC. The lower order is SAMAK, CSQ, UL, and CNPPO.

QC Division 1 Championships at CAMO get underway
Quebec's top clubs go head-to-head in the pool this weekend at the Province's Division 1 Championships. CAMO have taken an early lead in overall points (426), over Pointe Claire (397), Club de Natation CSQ (252), Samak (248), CNPPO (217) and Rouge et Or (212).
Point Claire Swim Club Friday showed their dominance in the 11-12y age group, sweeping the girl's 200Fl (Gabrielle Murphy, Sarah Kennedy and Bianca Grasso) and taking a 1-2 in the boy's (Nicholas Quigley and James Guest).
Raphaelle Charron (28.96s) and Yasmine Mekallach (29.77s) put CAMO on the podium in the 11-12 girls 50Fr, while Antoine Villeneuve (CNCSQ) took the boy's short sprint in 29.15s.
In this year of breaking records, Quebec's Age Group Provincial Records stayed safely untouched, but some exciting racing kept spectators on the edge of their seats. The 15-16y boy's 100Fr was won by Pascal-Hugo Cantin (Rouge et Or), who touched the wall just 0.2s ahead of Taylor Bond (PCSC).
Girl's 200IM finals were won convincingly by Gabrielle Murphy (PCSC, 11-12y), Ashley McGregor (PCSC, 13-14y) and Genevieve Cantin (Rouge et Or, 15-16y). Point Claire took gold in all the age group boy's 200IM finals (Nicholas Quigley, Lyam Dias and Daniel Jensen).
Friday evening finished with the 400FR, and victories for Elyanne Lamothe (CAMO, 11-12y), Katerine Savard (CNCSQ, ,13-14y), Barbara Jardin (CNPPO, 15-16y), Antoine Villeneuve (CNCSQ, 11-12y), Kevin Bustamante (CAMO, 13-14y) and Simon Villeneuve (CNCSQ, 15-16y).
